We are seeking a creative and driven social media content producer to launch our new Tiktok (or Instagram) account. We want to spread the word about what climate change looks like in your locale, and we want to share tips, strategies, and solutions for sustainability, while fostering discussions around what young professionals can do to address the climate crisis.
We seek innovative approaches and ideas, including the use of humour and hashtags, to tap into existing trends and viral content. We seek someone who is comfortable being the “face” of the FCF in front of the lens, who is also technically proficient in creating, editing, and uploading reels. The social media content producer will work closely with the Managing Director, yet will be required to come up with content independently (your own ideas), as well as remotely from their home location.

Renumeration
Competitive salary commensurate with experience and locale.

Program participant in a Future Communicators Foundation Scholarship. All students who submitted applications are eligible.

Description of Duties:
- Create, produce, shoot and edit one to two video reels a week for FCF Tiktok account
- Suggest concepts, story ideas/angles, and potential guests for Tiktok account
- Respond to comments on Tiktok account with positive engagement
- Respond to emails within business hours in a professional manner
- Zoom meet with Managing Director once a week to overview ideas, content, reels
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Front-of-camera charisma, comfortable on-screen
- Public interview and dialogue skills
- Local and global knowledge of climate and sustainability issues
- Interest and energy to source, create, and produce reels about climate and sustainability
- Imaginative approaches to sourcing and creating new content in their locale
Qualifications
- Fluency in English, with clear delivery, spoken and written
- Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism B.A. (completed or senior student)
- Participant in FCF Scholarship program
- Other languages an asset (we can use AI subtitling!)
Skills
- Fun and comfortable on-air presence
- Able to work independently and remotely
- Able to handle feedback
- Working knowledge of video editing and reel production for social media
- Working knowledge of Tiktok, social media conventions, hashtags
- Able to discuss a topic clearly, with audience engagement
- Must be able to meet project due dates
- Must be able to be on time for Zoom meetings
The candidate must provide:
- Smartphone capable of 4k/1920HD video capture with enough memory for video storage
- Internet connection with suitable bandwidth for short video (reel) upload
- Laptop or computer for video/reel editing, document management, and communication
